Weeeek 16

Literally all I have thought about this week is break... Only 4 days! Ahhh it can't come soon enough.
Anyways, last week was pretty good. The snow days helped a lot since I had a bunch a make up work to do so I was really happy about that. But during the school days I learned computer coding is harder than it looks and the Great Gatsby has multiple meanings... every word Fitzgerald uses has a 'deeper meaning' so its taken us awhile but English honors has finally 'finished' the Great Gatsby even though we really were done reading Monday night.
Challenges this week would be getting all my projects done, I've spent several late nights trying to get them done. Another challenge would be the coding in computer, it kinda hard to follow since I'm not good at typing but I think I'm catching on. The last challenge would be putting up my Christmas lights this weekend....it was cold, I put them all up and THEN realized I did it wrong and had to take them all down, it was rough...
Successes would be finishing my projects on time and getting good grades in math, also finally getting the house decorated...our tree isn't up yet but well get there;)
My plans for this week our to finish all the projects and assignments due before break. Also I'm planning to do some Christmas shopping since I have like no presents for my family. Lastly I'm planning to help out at the bake sale today and Wednesday to help raise funds for gala😜
20 time is going pretty good. I've been practicing the guitar every other day throughout the week but I still need to do some research and make the PowerPoint. I'm a bit behind but I'm planning to get a lot done today and Thursday in computer class.
This verse is basically saying that we shouldn't do anything selfishly, we should be serving for the glory of God not ourselves.

Week 15

Well it's been a weird two weeks.... out of those two weeks so far Ive only had one day of school!
Yes I know your thinking what? But first there was thanksgiving break, then I got sick and was absent mon, tues and wednes, and I had a field trip on Friday so the only day I actually went to school was Thursday! I still feel like I went to school that entire time...I've spent my entire weekend and snow day doing hw, plus I just discovered I have all this other hw due tomorrow... I don't think the teachers are going to give us a break since they assigned it on Friday:P so much for my snow day. Overall I've learned a lot this past week, specifically that I dislike iPads because they don't give us a snow day, we still have to do our hw because we can turn it in online...

I don't have much of a week to summarize since I was absent but the field trip on Friday was awesome! We went to the Weinberg center and watched a bunch of poems and short stories acted out. I almost didn't get to go because my ride to school forgot to come and get me (cough* kara cough*) but my mom got a sub and came and got me, not even 5 minutes later we were riding in the bus about a minute after we had left school the door on the bus broke, mrs.pam had to sit at the front and hold it closed the whole trip there! It was an interesting day.

Challenges faced would be getting makeup hw done, it was rough, wait... it IS rough.....

Successes would be getting my internship paper turned in one time! It was exactly 4 seconds early! Sadly it was a few pages short but at least I got it in on time(;

My plans for the up coming week are to work really hard for 24 hours straight and try to get all this hw done so I can enjoy the snow day that we will most likely have tomorrow.

Progress on my 20 time lately hasn't been too good. Being absent and all has set me back a lot but ill catch up by next week, hopefully.

'that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ'. I lived out this verse this week by respecting God, i am always sincere during chapel and try to discern what he wants me to learn from the message.

Week 14 blog

So I know this blog is a little late, but that's what happens when your sick huh? Well its been an interesting week. So far I've been sick since Thursday but I'm almost certain I'm better now. I definitely didn't enjoy my thanksgiving break (being sick and all) but its still wasn't that bad. Since we didn't have much school I'm just gonna talk about thanksgiving break, some things I'm thankful for, 20 time, and the verse.
So me and my mom left right after school on Tuesday to drive to West Virginia where my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins live. We had to leave early because there was going to be this huge snowstorm in West Virginia in the afternoon so if we had waited we would have gotten stuck in it. For the first night I stayed at my grandmas and then for three days I stayed at my cousins, then I spent the last night at my grandmas. Throughout the trip I did a lot of shopping with my cousin, my aunt, my mom, and my sister. We spent like an entire day in one store, it was crazy.... I also ended up going to my second cousin's bridal shower (who I had never met before). Anyway for thanksgiving we went to my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Mike's house. They used to have an indoor pool but they turned it into a huge living room where all the guys play football every thanksgiving. I didn't feel too well but I ate a bunch of food anyway. There were sooo many leftovers I don't know what they did with them all but there was entirely too much food this thanksgiving. For the rest of day we just hung out. My uncles watched the steelers and ravens game which they weren't too happy about... my family is the only that are ravens fans, everyone in WV likes the steelers. After that I played basketball and a couple of rounds of apples to apples with my cousins. Once we got everyone together we did a family photo shoot with everyone since my cousin is a photographer. After that all the girl cousins did a few cheerleading stunts. We also talked a lot about the the teen USA pageant at the Bahamas since we're all going (my cousin won missWVTeenUSA). Overall thanksgiving this year was a lot of fun. I'm thankful for my entire huge family, for all my friends, and for the Christian school I get to attend:)
20 time this quarter is going so much better. I've gotten two responses and one person actually emailed me back with answered questions! YES! It's also kinda weird... ever since I started tweeting all these famous guitar players, all these random guitar players that I don't know have started following me, not sure if they want me to send them the questions or not? Ive also been keeping up with actually learning to play guitar. I know how to play three songs now and my calluses are tough so I think Im doing ok. Overall 20 time is going really well and so far I have stuck with my schedule of getting tasks done.
The verse for this week is Colossians 3:12-18. I lived out this verse this week by showing compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience towards all my family members at thanksgiving. This verse is extremely important for us Christians. Sometimes we forget what it means to be a Christian. I know I have several family members that aren't Christians. It's important that no matter what, we always portray compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Last Week

I'd have to say that was a pretty sweet field trip on Friday. The three hour drive was a bit much but I really enjoyed all the restaurants and places there. Last week was a pretty normal week I don't remember to much from it remember alot from the field trip. Overall I would say I learned alot more about American History through that field trip. The scavenger hunt was really interesting and kept us going in and out of like every building in Philadelphia. I also learned alot about how the government was formed back then and about the kind of lives the people who lived back then had. Life was different back then compared to what we have now. Overall though I would have to say I enjoyed the food the most(; I didn't like the Philly cheese I tried but I really like the big market we went to. The food there was really good

As for challenges faced I would have to day the past few days Ive had trouble getting work done on my 20 time project. I worked on reading questions for English like all weekend and then I had riding lessons and a 4-H practice thing so I was kinda stretched on time. Usually though I find enough time to practice guitar at least 5 nights a week so I think Im headed in the right direction. Another challenge I faced was my explain everything project for English last week. I really scared that the app was gonna close and delete my whole project but I got lucky and it didnt delete anything! I uploaded it to youtube and presented it to the class the next day. That was by far the smoothest project I've ever done.

Successes for last week would be getting my movie presentation for English uploaded. I thought that was going to be a problem but I figured it out. Another success was the field trip on Friday. I learned alot about the history of America and had a great time with my friends. The last success for last week is that my team finally decided on a business title and now were working on our website which looks awesome by the way thanks to Alet.

My plans and thoughts for the upcoming week include getting some ground covered with my group on our phase 1 project. There is definitely still a lot more work to do in order to have it ready to
turn in and present by Thursday. I also plan to get some PLN accomplished for my 20 time project. Everyone Ive talked to says you should get an early start on that if you want to get some results. Lastly Im planning finish a couple projects that are due after thanksgiving break cuz I really don't want to have to work on those during my time off.

My success on 20 time this week like I said wasn't good. Im still working out the plan for my project and deciding exactly how Im going to fit this all together into a project. However Im planning to get a lot of progress in on this next week since I will have more of a plan laid out.

     I feel like I lived out the biblical principle last week by not walking in the way of the wicked like it said. I mean Ive never been the kind of person who hangs out with bad people, but its good to know theres a verse out there that explains what and why you shouldn't. Thanks for reading(;

Internship Week

So internship week...Im sure everyone learned a lot, but not me. Due to a killer upper respiratory infection, I had to cancel my plans to go to West Virginia and work in my aunt's spa. Instead I stayed home and coughed it up all week but by the time I was better we were already too far into the week so no internship for me:/
So instead Im gonna talk about some of my possible career choices just off the top of my head. The first one would be as a marine biologist. I don't know too much about the equipment in this area but I know marine biologists use a lot of technology. Lately I've heard about submarine explorations to observe and better understand sea life. Just the submarine itself relies completely on technology between tracking devices and computers. I also just looked up a general list of equipment they use in everyday work and came up with: scuba gear, telescopes, microscopes, a GPS, satellites, grabbers for sampling off of the bottom, succession plates, quadrants, beach seines, trawls, dredges, thermometers, bathythermograph, hydrometer, salinometer, oxygen probes, current meters, surveying equipment, sounder and fathometers.
The second possible career choice would be film making which definitely uses a lot of technology. Technology in this career includes film, cameras, lights, sound, music, projectors and speakers. The actual technology involved in the filmmaking includes film, digital media, sound, foley inserts, actor voice dubbing and backgrounds. The latest advancements in this area include steadicam, dolly, CGI, digital technology and stereoscopic imaging.
As for my plans for approaching quarter 2 I definitely plan to work on my 20 time project before the due date. I also plan to get all my projects finished ahead of time. I am also hoping to get a good fade on the computer business project with my team no dip;) so yup that's it.

20Time Final Reflection

Overall I really liked doing my 20 time project. Being able to research and learn about something that interests me is really intriguing. I really enjoyed this project a lot.
As for what I could have done better I would say my PLN resources. I waited a bit too long to start working on that. I feel I might have gotten better results had I started earlier. But then again scientists aren't really the talkative type if ya know what I mean.
As for what you (Mr.K) could have done better I would say just specifying the requirements for the project. I know not all people are like this but I like guidelines, rules and expectations. It kinda helps me figure out where to start with a project. So if you could be a bit more specific on the guidelines that would be great!
As for how I could have tweaked my project, well I already did tweak it. Originally my project PLN resources would have been limited and narrow, my topic was very specific. Instead later I decided to go on a broader level and decided all Marine Biologists would meet the PLN requirements for my project.
My potential topics for 20 time would most likely include my hobbies, possible career choices and just stuff I'd like to learn about. Hobbies: surfing, longboarding, horseback riding, soccer and skiing. Career: marine biology, film making and writing. Learn more: the Olympics, parasailing and photography.
I think after completing the quarter 1 project I will definitely work faster on the quarter 2 project.I think I have a better idea as far as contacting people and using twitter and stuff. In other words I feel more experienced now. The quarter 2 project will be much easier to do now.
I utilized iste.net by being creative and innovative with my project. I introduced the problems and threats towards endangering coral reefs and presented solutions and organizations supporting their health in the future. I also utilized it by using communication to find a PLN resource and attempting to contacts several others. I used research in my project. Along with that I used critical thinking to create an outline and determine what to include in my project. Lastly I had good citizenship online and talked to PLN resources respectfully. I demonstrated a clear understanding of how to research and communicate online through email and twitter.

End of Quarter 1

WOW quarter one over already?! That was a rough one haha....
So last week we did a lot of interesting stuff and I learned a lot of stuff, ya know, since its called school and all. Specifically though, I learned how to decorate a life size paper figure of a human in lit class. Personally, despite the odd shape of his head, I think our Mr.Ben Carson project turned out okay (for those of you who have no idea what Im talkin about just ignore this). I also learned a lot about my 20 time project this week. Ive probably learned more about it this week than I have all quarter cuz you know me, left the details to the last minute. Lastly I learned how to bake a cake for Bio class. It ended up being a little bubbly, brown, and kind of spilled out over the top but hey there's nothing a little icing wont cover up right?
Challenges faced would be trying to get my grades up. Im still not sure if Im safe in the 'B' zone. If our tests are put in the grade book for English Im sunk. Another challenge was baking for bio. Ive never really been one for cooking so when my parents left me a box of cake mix and wished me luck I wasn't too hopeful. However it turned out pretty well:) It looked pretty! (But I can't say the same for how it tasted...)
Successes would be first of all getting a good grade on my bio project, that definitely helped my grade. Another success would be finishing my 20 time project on time, personally I think mine looks awesome(; Lastly I was able to do really well in the cross country meet this last Saturday despite how cold it was.
My plans for this upcoming week include presenting my 20 time project. Im really looking forward to this. I also plan to finish my monthly project early and make a devotion for practice on Thursday.
I utilized my PLN this week my incorporating my one response (out of ten attempts) into my 20 time keynote presentation. Marine biologists definitely aren't the talkative type...
The bible verse this week is basically talking about how God is always gonna be there to help us. God is continually watching over us and is with us where ever we go. The Lord promises to watch over us and keep us from harm. I lived out this verse last week by trusting God to protect me and believing he will always be there for me.

Week Ate

So last week was interesting, I definitely enjotyed watching the retreat videos expecially alets;) Overall last week I learned alot. I spent alot of time trying to figure out how to upload my explain everything to youtube and after several failed attempts and trying to figure out my password i was succesful. I definitely learned that explain everything needs to change alot about its app. It cause me alot of grief with all the uploading problems. Another thing I learned last week was the ending of the scarlet letter. I know it should have but I wasnt really expecting a happy ending. Lastly I read the ending of my book in literature 'Gifted Hands' by Ben Carson. It was a pretty good book over all and I would definitely reccomend it.

Challenges I faced last week would definitely include what I already talked about, explain everything. I had alot of problems with uploading my project to youtube. Another challenge was the cross country meet last Saturday. It was really tough for me waking up that early on a Saturday. I almost didnt get up. Plus the fact that it was freezing outside.

Successes would be finally getting my explain everything project to upload. It took forever but I finally got it uploaded. Another success would be just getting stuff turned in, its been a bit of a struggle but I succeeded.

My plans for this week are to get some slides done on my 20 time project. I also plan to finish up some projects that are due next week.

I utilized my PLN resources this week by emailing/tweeting 10 different people. I've only got one reply so far but Im hoping for some more?...

I lived out the bible verse last week by praising and thanking God regularly. Its important to remember to thank God for all hes given us and praise him:)

Weeek seven

I think last week was the rainiest week of my life, not joking. I thought it was going to flood... Anyway last week was an ok week. Im starting to get used to the overbearing amount of hw (that doesnt make it any easier). Overall though I learned alot! In English class we just finished reading the scarlet letter (ps. Sparknotes don't tell anyone!) and its only been a month! It was rough trying to decipher Hawthorne's old english way of writing but I think I got the gist of the story. Another thing I learned this previous week was in bio. We get to make a model of the cell out of food! Yup that tops it. Best project ever. I wish all teachers were that creative. I've also learned a lot about keeping on task. This past week I have definitely learned how to deal with distractions better.

As for challenges faced I would have to say our cross country meet being canceled twice. I had to pack for a meet two days in a row and it was really annoying. You would be nervous all day and then in 6th you'd learn its canceled and then the same thing the next day. Kinda upset it got canceled..twice. Another challenge would be getting all my homework turned in by 8:15. If you can't tell already this blog is late. Nope it's not 8:15 AM, its 10:03 PM. 1 hour and 49 minutes late...I think I calculated that right. Lastly I was challenged in computer class when my chair mysteriously disappeared from beneath me (im not sure if this was last week or the week before). Anyway my back is still hurting from falling on the floor, shout out to Alet my lovely chair pulling friend!

Successes would be getting my lab report turned in on time. It was close but I managed to finish it just in time. Another success would be my good progress on my 20 time project.

My plans for this upcoming week are to work on my PLN resources and research for my topic. I also plan to do well on PSAT's tomorrow, I hope. Along with that Im hoping to get ahead on some projects that are due soon because I really don't wanna leave them to the last minute.

This week I utilized my PLN by putting together a list of people I can contact. It wasn't easy tracking down marine biologists that worked in the specific areas Im interested in learning about but I have found quite a few. As soon as I figure out what questions I want to ask them I will contact them.

I lived out the bible verse this week by choosing to look on the bright side. Unlike most of my friends I tend to see the downside in every situation but last week instead of dwelling on 'vile' thoughts I chose to think positively about future outcomes.

week sixx

I'd have to say now that things are really starting to settle in, the weeks are starting to blur together...I don't remember too much of what I did last week. Overall from what I can remember I learned some interesting stuff last week. First of all I figured out how to use pic stitch and put together a bunch of collages for the retreat. As of the moment I still have alot of work to do on it but since we have the weekend Ill be able to get it done. Another thing about last week was catalase reactions. We did an experiment in bio with chicken liver and it was really interesting/gross to see the chemical changes. As for my 20 time project I haven't gotten much accomplished this week mostly due to the fact Ive been pounded with more homework this week than any other. Tonight's gonna be a late night.

As for challenges I faced I would have to say mostly just all the homework. Its been kinda rough lately and then with practice four days a week Im having a hard time surviving:P Another challenge would be all the reading Ive had to do for my classes. Leaving your homework till the night before its due and then having to cram eight chapters is stressful. Other than that, last week was a pretty ok week.

As for success I would say the cross country meet we had last Saturday. The IPSLChampionships at MACA went well and Im really proud of the team. Although our girls team is down to only three people now and we couldn't have a team score, we had fun and all placed well.

This week I have so far planned to get all of my soon to be due projects over with. I have a lot of projects due soon and I really wanna get a head start and finish them early. I am also planning to try to get most of my homework done so I get some sleep before the meet on Thursday. Lastly Im planning on finding someone online who as experience in my area for my 20 time project.

I did not however have time to utilize my PLN this week. With all the crazy loads of homework I've been busy but I plan to pick up where I left off as soon as I catch up.

I lived out the bible verse this week by choosing to stick with God through the stressful times. instead of being 'conformed to the world', I prayed and allowed him to take control.

Retreet

Well this has definitely been one of the busiest weeks of my life. I had a family reunion on Saturday. Then I spent my entire Sunday with them and we went to dinner. Monday I packed for the retreat and later fell off my longboard and sprained my wrist. We had to go to the ER at 8:30 and didnt get back till 2:30 AM and I still wasnt done packing so lets just say I only got an hour of sleep. Then I woke up and went to the retreat for three days and squeezed in a few cross country work outs while I was there and a little sleep. Then I came back and had practice on Friday. Cross country meet the next day on Saturday. Then after the meet I slept, all day.... Yup its been a crazy week.

Overall besides all the craziness I had a really good time at the retreat! Even though I sprained my wrist I was able to do most of the actitites like the swing, junior swim, and class skits(: Overall I learned the most from the messages we heard. Pastor Carl and Dr.Chivallette taught me a lot about what it means to be a Christian and what faith really means. What impacted me the most was when Dr.Chivallette talked about our influence on the younger kids in our school. How we dont realize just how much they watch us and look up to us. I learned to be an example for Christ and the younger kids in our school. I also learned alot about the girls in my class through small groups. We were able to talk alot, share testimonies and prayer requests.

As for challenges I faced this week I would have to say the swing. The first time I got on it me, Megs, and Alet got stuck at the top. Megan couldnt chop the rope (gosh Megs!). Anyway its was really nervewracking and we ended up having to go down again and have them fix it before we could actually swing, turns out it wasnt Megan's fault.... bad luck most likely lol. Another challenge was the team competition. It was really intense and we were constantly running everywhere. The most challenging part was trying to find the flags in the sand. Our team found every flag accept a blue one. We were there for a really long time, Mr.Shutz (probably spelled that wrong) finally let us search with our whole team and we found one. In the end gray team got fourth place which I think is pretty good(:

Successes this week would include conquering any fear I had of the swing. Ive been on it before but I still get nervous every time. Another success would be growing closer with my class. Through skits and small groups I was able to get to know everyone a bit better. Lastly I was able to learn alot about God and what it means to be a Christian through listening to Pastor Carl and Dr.Chivallette's messages.

This week I plan to work alot more on my 20 time project because I kinda took this week off from it. At the moment Im still trying to work everything out. Im pretty sure Im gonna do a powerpoint presentation I just dont know how I'm going to break it all up into slides. I also plan to get a head start on all the powerpoint presentations I have to make for all my classes and finishing up any projects I have due soon. I'm also planning to get alot of rest this week for the meet on Saturday. I didnt get enough sleep for the one we had last Saturday and I was dead.

As for how I utilized my PLN Im still working it out. With all the craziness this week and the retreat for three days I kinda took the week off from my 20 time project. I plan to pick up where I left off this week and work on finding some people who know alot about my topic.

I lived out the biblical principle this week by having faith in God this week at the retreat. Its important that while were having fun and enjoying ourselves at the retreat that we dont forget, we are there to grow closer to God. I lived out this principle by choosing to focus on God most of all during the retreat and by learning what it really means to have faith.

Week Four

Another week four, yup im soo creative with my titles. I thought last week was week four but apparently this week is week four so now I have two blog posts named week four...Anyway this week went pretty well. Me and my group were able to work on our wikis and are still battling it out with the other groups to prove which is the best, obviously team No Dip got the best one duhhhh;) Also this week I made alot of progress on my 20 time project. I have been able to narrow down my favorite coral reefs. It was tough since there are soo many beautiful spots all over the world but with much research I was able to choose which ones would be the focus of my project. Overall Ive learned alot this week. Today in biology we did an experiment with potatoes in different solutions. In english we learned about Hawthorne and took a quiz:P Hopefully progress reports dont look as bad as Im expecting them to be.

As for challenges faced I would have to say figuring out which of our wikis in our groups is the best. Its hard to get in contact with the other team since were not in any classes with them so were a bit behind on that part. Another challenge was writing my blog post. Yup I wrote this whole thing out during school today and opened my iPad after practice to find it no longer existed. You have no idea how aggrivating it is to have to write this all out again... The last challenge would be my honors class, I had no idea it was gonna be this hard so its a bit of a struggle to keep up with the rest of the super smart people in the class.

Successes this week would be my group completing our wiki. It looks really nice and clearly is the best in the twitter division. Another success would be that Ive been able to get all my homework turned in on time this week, this tends to usually be a bit of a struggle. Lastly I been able to do really well in science and math this year which is unusual since they seem to always be my toughest subjects. Im anticipating my junior year to be one to remember.

This week I plan to have a really good time on the retreat and grow closer to God and my classmates. Im really excited for what this year is going to bring and I cant wait to go to the retreat! Its gonna be a lot of fun and Im really looking forward to introducing the freshies to our retreat traditions. I also plan to work alot more on my 20 time project this week. Im not sure whats next on the schedule but whatever it is Im excited to dig deeper into my topic. Along with that I plan to work out with the other teams on Friday how we are going to combine our wikis and stuff. Lastly Im planning to have a good race at the cross country meet this saturday:)

As for utilizing/growing my PLN Im planning on working some more on finding people who know alot about or have experienced diving at coral reefs. I think I might have found some people within my church but Im still working out the details. Hopefully on Friday I can work out all my plans for the 20 time project and get started:)

I lived out the verse this week by thanking God for everything he has given me. No one seems to really realize how precious our freedoms as American citizens are. How rare and valuable it is to have freedom like we do in America. I was reminded of this in history, that we need to constantly thank God, not everyone has the freedom we have. What we have is valuable.

Anyway that its i need to start packing(yikes its late) see you all at the retreat tomorrow!!

week 4

Things are really starting to settle in around MACA. Now that were on week four I think everbody's learned their locker combos and arent wandering the halls looking for their next class anymore. Anyway last week went really well. Me, Kara and Alet worked hard on our wiki project. Henry Lemon's twitter account is lookin prettty sweeet. So yup we got that turned into the second phase spot on moodle. Also last week we got to work on our 20 time projects. I basically just researched various coral reefs since thats my topic. Im still trying to pick my faorites but I found some really cool reefs out near Fiji and some place called the coral triangle. From what I learned coral reefs arent doing to well these days, in other words due to all the toxic waste their starting to die all over the world. People dont really see how much this will effect them. In other words if the coral reefs all die the fish will die and then the fish that rely on those fish for food will die and so on until the food chain works its way up to us... coral reefs play an important role in the environment.

Challenges I faced this week would include just distractions on getting homework done. Its been tough lately, not all the teachers are obeying the 2 night a week rule so sometimes Im overloaded. Another challenge was editing our wiki. Without Alet to help us Im not sure if me and Kara would have been able to work out all the formatting. Lastly for challenges I would have to say the cross country meet last weekend. I got a cold from running into the wind that day, not feelin too hot right now.

Successes of this week would be working on our wiki project. Alet, Kara, and me were able to get Henry Lemon's profile set up. We also got some good screen shots and worked on editing them. We edited them in skitch and used the arrows and circles to explain the steps in our wiki. So when we finished we got our project turned in to phase 2 on time:) Another success would be my progress on the 20 time project. I got a lot of work done on it in class the other day and its really starting to get interesting. I like that we have our own time to research what we want to learn about. Lastly I had success in getting all my assignments turned in on time. Hopefully I can keep this up for awhile.

This week I plan to continue working on my 20 time project. Basically Im gonna pick up where I left off last week and just keep researching all well known islands/areas with coral reefs and choose the top ten best spots. I also plan to continue working on the wiki project. This week we are going to collaborate with people from the other CS1 class. Our other group is the leprechauns so hopefully we can get together and combine the best parts of our wikis. Lastly this week I pan to go to a family reunion. All my family from West Virginia and other places are coming together on Saturday. Thats why Im really glad we have Friday off so I can spend the day with my cousins;)

As for utilizing/growing my PLN Im just gonna keep researching coral reefs and following the plan/schedule I made for the project. Also me and my group buddies are gonna continue working on our wiki projects and making sure they look awesome. Lastly Ill be attempting to read more of Wuthering Heights this week for lit class, its a pretty depressing book.

I lived out the verse this week by working well with my group. Sometimes its hard to get along with people you hang with every day but we were able to work as a team and get the project done. Also I would say I lived out the verse this week because I didnt lie or hold any grudges... so yup.

Sorry for the late post, I had alot of other work to do.

yahay

Hey guys, arent mondays the worst? I dont know about you, but i hate mondays. WORST DAY OF THE WEEK.

Anyway last week went pretty well despite my rough start to this one. Alet, Kara, and me worked hard on on our wiki project and its all done now, I just have to figure out how to get the link to upload...?? Also the 20 time projects are going well:) I was absent on Friday so I didnt get to present but Im excited for everyone to see my presentation once its done. In Biology last week we did a lab on toilet paper, ya it was interesting. Me and my group tested the strength of four different brands of toilet paper using a bunch of pennies. Just in case your wondering, Charmin Ultra strong was the best and withstood 65 pennies😉 As for what Im learning I would have to say most of the general stuff. Ive been spending alot of time on math Hw and history Hw. And in english we've been working on our in class essays. Sadly I dont think mine was that good....still alot of room for improvement! Oh and I had my first cross country meet of the season! got 15th for varsity girls, Im pretty proud of my self;)

As for the challenges I faced I would definitely have to say pure exhaustion. Had alot of trouble getting my HW done last week at home cause I kept falling asleep... Also lit class for me. Were reading this book called Wuthering Heights and I cant for the life of me focus when Im reading. Every five seconds somebodys trying to kill someone else, everything is starting to get all jumbled up... sparknotes here I come. Successes would be the toilet paper lab. We were able to get through three trials before the end of class so we have plenty of data to work with:) Also the wiki project. Im soo glad my group and I were able to finish it before tonight.

This week is gonna be interesting. Most likely Alet, Kara, and me will try to finish up the second portion of the wiki project. Also I will be hard at work on my 20 time project about famous coral reefs;) cant wait to dig in and learn some more about ocean life! Hmmm... oh and another cross country meet on Saturday at clearspring. Im also planning to finish a lengthy lab report before Friday. Ive never done a 'lab report' before so Im kinda finding my way, my group is as lost as I am.

As for PLN what does that exactly mean?? I know it has something to do with twitter so no guys, my account is still suspended. Theyve sent me a few emails about my plea to them about my suspension but I havent found the time to work through all the steps.

I lived out the verse this week by working well with my group. Sometimes its hard to get along with people you hang with every day but we were able to work as a team and get the project done. Also umm I would say I lived out the verse this week because I didnt lie or hold and grudges... so yup.

See you all tomorrow, get ready for a long week.

second week of school

Id have to say over all this week has had many ups and downs. Between homework and practice its taken a bit of adjusting but after a long while I usually get used to the idea of only have small amounts of free time (if any). Anyway I really like the idea for the 20 time projects!! Giving us our own choice of topic to research and learn about is so much better than being assigned a topic;) Im really excited to see how the projects will turn out(:
First of all this week we got our groups. Im with my friends Kara and Alethea, we get along well enough;) Also this week we chose our 20 time topic ideas and worked on creating wikis. My group got twitter, hopefully the suspension thing will go away.
As for challenges I would definitely have to say me and Kara were confused more than once. Alets real smart with computers though so she helped us;) Also the whole suspended from twitter thing was a bit annoying and definitely considered a challenge.
As for successes, we are currently working as a group on directions of how to make a twitter account. We each successfully made our own accounts for the places and made a first blog post in google+ called "All about me".
Personally I think the next few weeks are going to be a lot of fun(: Im really looking forward to working on the 20 time projects and working in my group. Cant wait to see everyones projects!
This week I utilized my plan by picking my 20 time project and working with my group (NoDip haha) on the wikis, we got a lot accomplished.
I applied the biblical principle this week by helping the other two people in my group when they got lost working on our assignments. As for areas of improvement I would have to say patience, Im not the kind of person who enjoys doing things that take alot of time and dedication so thats something I need to work on.
Well any way I'm really tired good night all
