20 time project

My 20 time project is coming along quite well. I recently found a website that lists their top 50 travel bloggers and have been using that to find people to look at. I recently found a travel blog run by three people who go around the world reviewing skii resorts which is something I was definitely interested in since I've been skiing like my whole life. I also followed several more people on twitter and am looking forward to getting in contact with all of them. My plans for the upcoming week with this project are to begin laying out an outline for my presentation. I want to start putting together my keynote or explain everything presentation and figure out what information I still need and what I have enough of. I still have a lot more work to do in the long run but I think my project is coming along well. Contrary to what I previously thought there are many different types of travel bloggers and travel sites dedicated to many different purposes. Depending on what kind of atmosphere you are looking for in a vacation spot you may be able to find a blogger with the same ideals who only visits places with that element.
As for the college websites, I am almost done everything. Yesterday I figured out how to embed a google earth tour video so now I have to do that for my two other sites. Overall I feel like this project went very well. I think my websites are almost good enough for presentation. The only thing I would need help with would be if maybe someone could scan over my sites and tell me if I missed anything important? I'm not entirely sure what we were supposed to with the pages, I just linked them to the page on the actual college site... Otherwise I think my websites are good to go.
I commented on the Kara S blog. She is doing a project where she is fundraising with her friend to earn money to go on a missions trip to India. I also commented on Madeline T blog. She is doing a project where she is planning to go about and do random acts of kindness for everyone in her school. Lastly I commented on Halle M blog. She is doing a project where she is going to reach out and serve the Detroit community through community service, fundraisers and anything else she can do to help.

20 Time

I think we can all agree that thanksgiving break was much needed. I definitely needed a break from school for a while, or in this case a couple days. So far in 20 time I have been focusing on finding all of the most popular travel bloggers. I have followed a few on twitter but some don't have accounts. However they all have well built websites so I would say that is essential to being a popular blogger. I've also been looking at their personal stories. Many of the bloggers have an "about me page" where they tell the story of how they became a travel blogger so I've read quite a few of those. This week I think I'm going to look into the physical and mental demands that this job requires. I also want to look into the writing style on their blogs and try to compare them to see what particularly made them successful. One of the bloggers I followed did a post on what the job really requires so I'm looking forward to reading that.
PLN so far has been going well. I haven't contacted any of the bloggers yet but I'm planning to start next week. I'm still building up a list of all of them and I have followed several on twitter already. However I was surprised afterwards to realize random travel bloggers I hadn't even looked at began following me after that? Overall I would expect these travel bloggers to be more than willing to talk to me. After all their whole career revolves around self advertising and getting people to read their blogs and look at their websites. They need the recognition I'm going to give them.
Overall I am starting to see some of the big picture... I think my main goal is to try and figure out if travel blogging is a realistic career to pursue. I don't think I've met a person yet who doesn't want to travel the world, that's what makes this project so attractive. Almost everyone can relate. Overall I think people need to be more aware of how close to your dreams you can get. Clearly it's hard to get started in this career, but in the end you literally get to have the experiences of a lifetime. I want to include the benefits of this career in my project and outline on average how many places these travel bloggers have been.
So far I have has trouble figuring out which travel bloggers are paid and which ones aren't. The thing with that is that they don't really work for anyone so it not like their specially certified. Some of them have the money and just travel because they can. I'm still working on figuring out who pays them and which ones get paid. The other thing I've had trouble with is finding the travel bloggers on twitter, some of them all work together on one website so it's hard to figure out who runs the site and who actually blogs. Still looking into this problem.
Overall I think I have a pretty good idea of what I want my project to be focused on. I think however its going to be majorly filled up with PLN responses because I feel like their opinions will aim more towards the questions I'm trying to answer.

Break is almost here...

Thank goodness break is almost here! So last week was like freezing compared to the weather now... Gosh maryland weather. And now it's like 70° degrees outside yet were still expecting 3-6 inches of snow the day after tomorrow... How is that possible. Anyways last week I made a lot of progress on the college sites. I finally got my buttons to start working so you can actually see them. I also made a lot of progress on 20 time both this week and last week. I've been looking at a lot of travel blog sites and have found several successful and professional people to contact. They all seem to have the same story on their bios though, 'I was working a boring job and decided I wanted a better life so I quit my job and decided to travel the world'...I have a feeling there is more to the story than that. I've also been researching how often they get asked to visit a country free of charge in exchange for a positive blog post. It appears that they get a few of them but most of the places travel bloggers go are chosen by them, they are not asked to go there. Overall I want to specifically look in to seeing if there are any bloggers out there who go to 'off the beaten track' vacation spots. I think the best travel blog would entail descriptions of places that literally no one has ever heard of. No ones going to want to hear another review of Paris and the Eiffel Tower, because they either already know or have been there themselves.
As for thanksgiving break, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that feels its way to short. I mean a half day before the actual holiday? Most schools got out for the entire week...rant over. My plans for break are to babysit Wednesday. The family I babysit for has their family over so instead of babysitting 2 girls, I'm babysitting 3 girls and 2 twin boys...pray I survive:/ For thanksgiving, the plan is to drive up to my Grandparents on Thursday but with a 3 hour drive and the prospect of snow I'm not entirely sure that's going to happen. However if we do arrive safely the plan is to eat dinner at my uncles house with the whole family.
As for ODMs I signed up today but may switch my classes around, anyways I signed up for the human trafficking class with Mrs.Griffin, cake decorating class with Mrs.Barnesly, Creative writing, and Spanish cuisine with Mrs.Dayhoff.
Challenges faced this past week would include driving to the mall by myself for the first time. It was rough but I didn't run into anyone so its ok. Another challenge faced was the English test which, despite previously thinking I had failed it, actually did pretty well. The last challenge faced was getting the buttons to work on expression web.
Successes of this past week would include improvements on my 20 time project. Also seeing mocking jay part 1 in theaters was pretty great. Another succes was of course getting the interactive buttons on the site to actually show up. The last success was getting this blog done -_-
My plans for next week are to continue progress on my 20 time project and start getting in contact with some of the bloggers. I'm also planning to finish up the college sites and do some Christmas shopping finally maybe on Black Friday?

3 DayWeekend

Overall this past week was a rough one...end of quarter 1! However Halloween at the end of the week made it better. Went out with a bunch of crazy friends and got tons of candy so it's all good:)
Overall last week was crammed. All the teachers were trying to squeeze as much into quarter 1 so naturally I had a test or quiz for every class throughout the course of 4 days. In computer we worked on our college sites. Most of the time last week I spent looking at the campuses on google earth...and exploring other places. Currently I'm still trying to figure out how the button works, mine never seems to show up entirely, only the words and no actual tab so... In English we did a project on the characters from the Canterbury tales. My group had the friar, parson, monk, nun and another one I can't remember. We had to make a PowerPoint on them and draw a picture of what we think they would have looked like based on the description given...yaaaa I can't draw, especially not people.
Challenges faced last week would include tackling multiple tests coupled with cross country and worship team, it was exhausting. Luckily I'm in my last week of cross country ever ;(still kinda sad) anyway when it's over I'll finally be able to relax... Another challenge faced was literally the coldest cross country meet of the year, and to make it even better my alarm didn't go off at 6 in the morning on Saturday so I was extremely late:/ so when we got there no one knew where the course was because it was hardly marked and we were all freezing and it actually started raining a little...rough day but we all went out to eat afterwards so:)
Successes of this past week include -surviving quarter one despite disastrous grades -last week of cross country -mapping out my college sites for computer and -possibly interning with my cousin who is a pre k teacher!!!
My plans for the upcoming week include playing guitar at youth group, the Surland's bonfire, chapel and church on Sunday...yikes. Senior pictures Thursday. Cross country meet Saturday...hopefully my ankle gets better:/ I also plan to continuing working on the physics lab which includes all of us throwing a football to see how size, weight and height factor into how far the ball goes.

Blogging

So after last week I would have to say I am now in full support of ODMs. At first I wast sure if it was a good idea but it actually turned out to be really fun:) an entire week of no homework had to be the best part and the fact that we got to take more interesting classes. Even though we still went to school each day, it felt like a week off of school and I am anxiously looking forward to the next one right before Christmas break:D
Overall last week was very educational. I took early childhood education, SAT prep, book club and creative writing. Early childhood education was a great class to have in the morning. We got to prepare our own lesson plans to teach a class which was fun. We ended up teaching the pre-k students about the seasons, more specifically fall and everything that happens in fall. Block 2 I had SAT prep which I really wish I had taken a week earlier... I took the SAT the weekend before O term. After taking SAT prep I can definitely tell you I didn't do that well on the SAT...oh well. Block 3 I had book club. We ended up reading this book called 'By Searching'... It was basically the testimony of a missionary and her journey, I didn't enjoy it as much but there were a lot of good lessons in it. Block 4 I  had creative writing which I would have to say was the most enjoyable class. Everyday we started by reciting a tongue twister and seeing who could say it fastest. We also teamed up and had some one wear a blindfold and describe how an unknown object in their hands felt. And on the last day we did an activity where you would write a sentence and pass the paper and the next person would write a sentence, we ended up with some pretty crazy scenarios!
Some challenges faced this past would first of all include teaching a pre-k class, that was definitely challenging. The children were very well behaved but I think we thought they knew more than they actually did. Probably should have made it simpler somehow but overall I think it went well. Another challenge was running for an hour in the cold this past weekend. Naturally I waited till the last minute to do my cross country workout this weekend and it was freezing out side. Surprisingly I survived an hour running in freezing wind but I'm pretty sure I caught a cold. The last challenge faced was finishing my outside reading book for English. It took awhile but I finally finished it
Successes of the last week would include teaching pre k which was very successful despite a few snags. Another success was ODMs as a whole for the school. I don't think anyone was too sure how they would turn out but it proved to be a huge success. The last success this week was getting my college pics and hyperlinks and stuff together and putting one of those pictures in index...it's a working progress but I have the individual sites for each college with pictures and text so I was working on something all class period.
My plans for the upcoming week are to complete and survive the several projects and multiple tests that are all scheduled for the next three days. I'm also planing on senior pictures this weekend and a cross country meet on Saturday so it's gonna be a busy week

Katie's First Blog Post

Welcome to my blogggg.....where you will not only hear a summarized version of my week but my failures, successes and plans for the upcoming week as well! So to begin, my week last week was quite ordinary. In CS2 we worked on the college project. My top three choices are Liberty, UNCW and the University of the Faroe Islands. Out of them all I'd have to say the most realistic is Liberty and my favorite college is University of the Faroe Islands. Unlike the rest of you out there, I want a different college experience than the average MACA kid who seems to have no other choice than Liberty, Cadarville or Pensacola. I'm aiming higher and hopefully one day when were all gathered at class reunion, I'll be the crazy one everyone says is currently traipsing around Iceland and couldn't make it.
Another memorable part of last week was running Bull Run this past weekend with the MACA cross country team. I think I may have developed several permanent injuries but have otherwise survived. Overall it was a very rewarding experience after hearing years of grief about a course I had never run, I'm relieved to finally say I've conquered the great Bull Run. The hill and dip everyone complains about is pretty unbearable but obviously not impossible. However the Chinese restaurant we went to afterwards was questionable....😝 Anyways my weekend was very interesting overall.
Challenges.... Well as I mentioned before Bull Run was definitely a 'challenge'....thank goodness I never have to run it again:)))) Another challenge was the physics test which I bombed but still survived! And the last challenge was chapel last Thursday. The praise team was fully unprepared and a wreck on Thrusday morning last week, luckily we were able to pull it together and face that challenge with the help of Mr.Buisch stepping in. Overall I think my challenges this week were all well met.
Successes.... Well I ran Bull Run, survived and got an ok time on the course. Also successfully turned in my monthly project on time;) Another success was narrowing down my college choices which I hadn't done up until now. Successfully wrote an in class essay for the Griff. And lastly I successfully ran five miles and touched the bridge on Twin Arch Road during cross country practice:D
My plans for the upcoming week are to continue coding in computer class. I've also been researching exchange students in the Faroe Islands and what it would take to get there, tuition, immigration and stuff. I'm planning to continue researching to see if its even possible for me to stay and study at their college since Denmark has so many restrictions concerning foreigners. They only let you go there if you have a residence permit and the only place that explains those is a site written in all Danish...Lastly I'm planning to go to the beach this weekend. Hopefully get a chance to relax and chill my only free weekend from cross country meets.🏄

Tell us about yourself...

     1. How long have you been going to MACA?

I have been going to MACA since kindergarten;) Yep I'm one of those staff kids as well.

     2. What extra-curricular activities/sports are you (or will you be) involved in at MACA?
This year I am doing Cross Country in the fall for MACA.

     3. What was your favorite event of the last school year?
Overall my favorite school event of the past year was the junior hike! It was a lot of fun and a great end to junior year:)

     4. List/describe 2-3 hobbies/activities that you enjoy outside of school.
Outside of school I enjoy playing guitar, skiing, and longboarding. I started playing guitar last year at the beginning of the school year and then turned it into my 20 time project. Im actually playing for the worship team now so:) As for skiing, my parents started teaching me to ski when I was four years old. Both of them were ski instructors and worked at the ski resort so naturally me, my brother and my sister learned to skii when we were four. It's definitely my favorite thing to do during the winter. Lastly my brother taught me how to longboard and its definitely my favorite thing to do outside of school.

     5. Tell us about the most memorable thing you did this past summer?
The most memorable thing I did this summer was going on vacation with all my aunts, uncles, and cousins to the Bahamas to watch my cousin Lexey compete in the Miss Teen USA Pageant! It was a crazy week but ultimately my favorite out of the whole year. The water was beautiful and the beach was perfect. And the waterpark was huge! Plus Lexey made top 15 at the pageant so we were all very happy with how things ended. Overall it was the best vacation we could have hoped for

     6. What are you looking forward to most this school year?
Id have to say that overall I am looking forward to the Costa Rica the most this year. I'm really excited to see how Gods going to work through our class to make a difference in the lives of people down there. Cant wait!

Final Blog Post

Well its been real CS1A. I'm really gonna miss 3rd period computer with you guys;) Overall I feel like this year went extremely well. It's definitely been the hardest for me as far as work and responsibilities but I made it! I definitely learned a lot this year, first of all through the retreat. It was nice coming together as a class again, I can't imagine what it's gonna be like senior year... I also learned a lot through 20 time this year. Majorly though I learned how to play the guitar! Which is something I've been wanting to do for ages. Another thing I learned was how to plan a gala! Man it was a crazzzzy year majoritively because of all the stress from the gala. Overall my class has become a lot closer this year, I'm looking forward to the junior hike and coming together even more.
There were many challenges this year starting out with doing three sports this year. It was my first time doing three and honestly I almost died under the workload of practice and homework so definitely not doing that again. It was definitely a challenge though. Cross country was tough since I hadn't really been in running shape in like 3 years. Plus the meets were stressful but I met alot of nice people. The equestrian team was a completely new experience for everyone who did it. It was a first for MACA and for me. The practice schedule was a little less stressful since it was only once a week on Saturdays but that still meant I need to ride Turvey on the weekdays to keep him in shape for practice. In the end because of all the snow we got this year...we only made it to one show where I got 6th place which isn't too bad. Overall that was a great experience for all of us. The last sport was soccer, I am now currently in my third year of HS soccer and we have finally made it to the championships! The pressure is on since HS soccer is the only team that doesn't have a banner in the gym yet so if we win the game on Monday we will have finally achieved that! It was definitely a challenging season for me. We had a lot of games get canceled, more than I can count, and on the days we did have games I found myself no getting home till 9 or 10 and then being to tired to do hw but the last game is Monday so it's finally over. The other challenge this year, as I mentioned before was the gala. I personally believe that there has never been a more stressed out junior class. We basically had no help from any of the parents since no one wanted to step up and take responsibility. They were all afraid that if they stepped up it would all fall on them so the planning and everything was left to us with almost no adult help. Basically for two months straight me, kalleigh, Kara, Alethea, Ashley and Megan found ourselves in Mrs.Becker's room, furiously stewing over decorations, the buses, dress codes, seating arrangements,  venu, tickets..... It was a lot to handle and I believe most of the credit is due to Kara and Megan. But we succeeded and I think the gala turned out quite well.
Successes of this year would be first of all learning how to play the guitar. I started the beginning of September and progressively got better... I'm just happy that I finally learned since its been something I've been wanting to do for awhile. Another success was the gala. After months of planning and preparation we were able to successfully set up and execute the 2014 senior junior gala. Personally I think it went very well. Good luck to the juniors who have to plan our gala;) another success was getting into the National Honor Society. I didn't really think I would be accepted, I applied just for the sake of applying but I'm really glad I got in! 5 people out of 25 applicants is pretty slim so I would definitely consider it a success. Another success was MACA's first equestrian team. It was a bit of an experiment at first and we weren't really sure how it would turn out but we did quite well. We could definitely use a few more people so if anyone's interested and has horse experience you should check it out. The last success of this year was growing closer as a class. We have alot further to go but since we're MACAs smallest class (probably ever) than I don't think we're going to have too much trouble next year.
My plans for next year are to decide on my career and college. I'm going to have to apply somewhere and I'm thinking I probably won't have decided by September even. I'm also planning to enjoy everything. It's sad to think that it's all going to come to an end for us next year so I'm going to try to enjoy just being with my friends:) another thing I'm planning to do is be an example and a leader. I think those are two most important things in leaving behind our legacy for MACA.
My 20 time projects this year were the favorite projects I did overall out of any of my classes. My first project was on learning to play coral reefs. I have recently gotten in to aquariums and had started one my self so I wanted to learn more about that. I'm particularly interested in sea life and corals reefs
/marine biology as a career so I wanted to learn about that. I definitely enjoyed the PLN since I was talking to evolutionists who believed global warming was a viable threat. Overall however I learned alot about reefs, how they start, and how God has organized everything perfectly so everything has a purpose and works together to create a healthy fully functioning Eco system for the fish and all the inhabitants in the sea. My second 20 time project was learning to play guitar. I has already started learning to play guitar in September so when I need a new project topic I thought it would be interesting to do it on something I'm already learning. The project turned out very well and I learned alot about guitars that I didn't know before. I also made a video log of my progress which was extremely. The guitar project was definitely the one I enjoyed the most. The last 20 time project I did was on the bahamas. I decided to do this project because I am going there in August because my cousin is competing in the miss teen USA pageant and my entire family is going to support her. I wanted to learn more about the island so that I when I got there I would know where the best tourist attractions and food places are;)

20 Time Final Reflection

Describe the overall experience of doing your 20time project.
Overall I feel like my 20 time project this quarter was very interesting. I loved doing some pre-planning for my trip there and also getting a project done so it was a nice combination. I learned a lot about the country as a whole and the specific island my family is going to so I feel like I learned a lot of useful information. In the end I feel like I have benefited a lot from doing these 20 time projects.

What could you have done better? (consider all aspects covered in the #20time - Guidelines document, and the 20time rubric)
The only thing I feel like you could have done better on was the 20 time statuses....personally I feel like a google doc would be much more reasonable since we would just go in there and fill it in on the chart instead of uploading an updated version of the chart every week. Otherwise it was good.

What could I have done to better help you?
The only thing I would say would be help with PLN. For some people their topic doesn't really leave much room for PLN and others have plenty of people more than ready for PLN.

Are you someone who feels comfortable doing "self-directed" activities? (and I'm not talking about situations like math, where you need to be taught formulas/processes before you are able to effectively apply them... I'm talking about activities where effort/initiative are the only pre-requisites, and the learning is part of the process you go through to complete the activity). Whether yes or no, please provide insights that will help me better design future projects.
Yes I am very comfortable in self directed activities. I'm all for being self taught and learning stuff in your own, I would be homeschooled if I could. The 20 time projects are a great way to let us explore our own personal interests outside of the boring old stuff like math, history, English.....It also helps with our future since these areas of personal interest can also be possible careers.

Looking back, how could you have tweaked your project plans to make it easier to find PLN contacts? If you never had PLN success, what could you have done to increase your chances? (other than just trying to contact more people)
I feel like I could have had more PLN success possibly. My topic was difficult to find people for but maybe if I spent more time researching an looking. I have had success with PLN on my other projects however and I believe success solely relies on your topic since some are more popular than others.

Now that you have been through this process 3 times, describe a few ways that you would change your approach if you were to do another one.
Given another chance I would change my approach in the way of PLN and my topic choice. I think that if I was going to do another project I would make sure there's plenty of people out there that are easy to contact.

Talk about the iste.nets-s skills that you utilized, gained, and strengthened (in detail).
This year I have utilized my computer skills through using explain everything and PowerPoint to make my projects. I have also utilized my computer skills by contacting PLN. I gained through my 20 time project alot of information that I otherwise wouldn't have learned. 20 time has helped me learn more about topics that interest me. I strengthened my skills by learning how to correctly use explain everything and PowerPoint. I strengthened my skills by learning how to use music in my presentations and upload them to YouTube.

Week 34

Last week was a short week for all of us. I loved having that Monday off because i got a babysitting job and earned a bunch of money so YES! I still think we should've had Tuesday off as well but whatev. My team made some progress on the storytime. I know Alethea is finished working on a really cool animated background with a thunderstorm, she also added a tornado so it looks really good. I also made a lot of progress with my animated background. I decided to put a jeering crowd in the background window of one of my slides. It looks awesome and moves with the slide. As of the moment my 'adherence to distractions' deplorable. Despite the fact i literally don't have time to breath anymore with the gala, junior hike, and graduation all coming up... I still find my self sleeping for three hours the moment I get home from school everyday:P
Challenges faced last week include getting shoes, jewelry and my dress for the gala. I ended up borrowing some really pretty shoes and jewelry from my cousin so I'm really relieved that's out of the way. Another challenge faced was creating my animated background on the third slide of my story-time project. I had a rough time cutting out the window in the picture so that it had an invisible background section but after experimenting a bit I figured it out. The last challenge of the week was PLN. I found some people I wanted to contact and followed them on twitter but I haven't contacted them yet because I haven't had time to come up with the questions yet that I need to ask them.
Successes of the week would include getting my hair highlighted for the gala. Since my aunt owns a hair place i got it done for free:) Another success would be getting to my cousins shower this weekend. Despite bumper to bumper traffic me and my mother survived the three hour drive to WV and made it to Sydney's shower. Another success of the week was getting inducted into NHS! And the last success was playing the guitar in chapel for the first time.
My plans for the upcoming week are to contact the PLN finally and find more PLN to contact. I'm planning to go to the gala as well despite all the other things I need to do. I'm also planning on going to the baseball game on Saturday which should be fun:). I'm also planning on getting a bunch of tests and quizzes out of the way since they seem to be piling up. And lastly on Thursday I have an away game at Arlington so a lot places to go this week.
20 time as I said before is coming along. I'm still working on getting PLN and getting the slides completed. Research is going well and im planning on maybe including a promotional video. I think I'm gonna use explain everything since that seems to always work well with videos and stuff. With my research lately though I've been leaning more towards focusing on free diving which I've found really interesting. I think I'm gonna focus on that and a lot on Deans Blue Hole.
The verse for this week is basically telling us to get along with the people around us. We shouldn't be getting angry with our friends and neighbors. Instead we should be like God, slow to anger, slow to speak, but quick to listen.

Week 33

Last week was a short week. But then again we did have Easter break...all 2.5 days of it:P anyway over my short break I didn't do much or go on any extravagant vacations....just stayed home and had Easter brunch with the fam;) also last week my team made some progress on the storytime. I know Alethea is working on a really cool animated background with a thunderstorm so that should be interesting. I also made a lot of progress but I haven't attempted any animated backgrounds yet. I thinking of trying some moving clouds on out first slide but I think we should first finish all the slides and then go back for the details. As of the moment my 'adherence to distractions' is none at all. I literally don't have time to breath anymore: I have to play the guitar in chapel tomorrow for the first time, I am being inducted into NHS tomorrow, I have an away game tomorrow being dismissed early, once im back from the game I have to pack for the weekend since I'm leaving for my grandparents early on Friday and next week is the gala and I still need shoes AHHHHH!
Challenges faced last week include getting getting a gala dress. It was definitely challenging but easy at the same time since I'm just borrowing one from a friend. Still have to find shoes though.  Another challenge faced was finding the animations for my third slide. I had a rough time finding crowds of angry people since google images can only be so helpful. The last challenge of the week was PLN. I found some people I wanted to contact and followed them on twitter but I haven't contacted them yet because I haven't had time to come up with the questions yet that I need to ask them. AHHHHH there's never enough time...
Successes of the week would be giving my bible presentation. I think it went well despite my mistake at the beginning. Another success would be our soccer games. So far we've been doing really well, won 3 games and have only lost one so I think we're gonna do well this year. Another success of the week was getting my gala dress approved!
My plans for the upcoming week are to contact the PLN finally and find more PLN to contact. I'm also planning on getting all this hw out of the way so I can enjoy this weekend with my aunts and cousins.  I'm also planning on finding shoes. On Friday I have to go to my other cousin in WV's bridal shower.
20 time as I said before is coming along slowly. I'm still working on getting PLN and have so far not contacted anyone yet. Research is going well and im planning on plugin this information into more slides soon. I think I'm gonna use explain everything since that seems to always work well with videos and stuff. With my research lately though I've been leaning more towards focusing on free diving which I've found really interesting. I think I'm gonna focus on that and a lot on Deans Blue Hole.
The verse for this week is basically saying that we should not just hear and listen to the word of God. We should be speaking it and sharing it with the world. God commands us to spread the gospel not keep it to ourselves.

Week 32

Last week was a very short week for me. But then again I did miss three days of school:/ not much to write about here since the majority of my week last week was spent at home throwing up from the flu:P But for the two days I was at school I got a lot done. My team made some progress on the storytime. I literally don't have time to breath anymore I have so much makeup hw and it right alongside all the other hw that is due normally on schedule:P I can't wait for Easter break.
Challenges faced last week include getting sick. It was definitely not fun AT ALL. I was so sick I couldn't even watch tv:/ That definitely was a bump in the road. Another challenge faced was finding the animations for my third slide. I had a rough time finding crows of angry people since google images can only be so helpful. The last challenge of the week was PLN. I found some people I wanted to contact and followed them on twitter but I haven't contacted them yet because I haven't had time to come up with the questions yet that I need to ask them. AHHHHH there's never enough time...
Successes of the week would be giving my English presentation finally last weekend. I'm so glad that's over with. Another success would be our soccer games. So far we've been doing really well, won 3 games and have only lost one so I think we're gonna do well this year. Another success of the week was finishing my history paper, took me all weekend but I finally finished.
My plans for the upcoming week are to contact the PLN finally and find more PLN to contact. I'm also planning on getting all this makeup hw out of the way. I think I still have 2 quizzes and 2 tests to make up so I'm far from done. I'm also planning on celebrating Easter with my family. On Friday I have to go to my cousins bridal shower and on Saturday I'm going to watch my dad play with his band at a street fair and then I'm babysitting on Monday so it's definitely gonna be a busy weekend.
The verse for this week is basically telling us to not let the world shape our views on life. It's telling us to let God affect us and not the world around us. We shouldn't fit in with the world, we should be seeking Gods will and spreading the gospel everywhere we go.

Week 31

Ahhhhhh last week was so stressful....I'm just glad it's all over. So many projects and way to much busy work! Anyway progress on storytime is coming along I decided to make our intro side animated and personally I think it looks awesome;) there's animated l lightening and thunder sound effects. Also last week we had our first soccer game finally! When we got there we had to wait around for awhile because their reff was no where to be found, but we ended up winning 3-0:) lastly I finally got all the projects turned in, wait no, there's in more due Wednesday:/ NEVERMIND. Another soccer game tomorrow, and Friday,Monday, and Tuesday! It's about to get crazy...

Challenges faced this past week include giving my English project presentation. It was the biggest grade of the year but I'm so happy I got it over with in the first day. Another challenge was the first game, i think we were all worried about how itd turn out. The last challenge this past week was finding PLN, my topic is pretty broad so I think I'm gonna spread out to other areas.

Successes of this week include finishing then huge English project, it seemed like it would never be over:P another is success was the game since we won;) Also yesterday we reserved our plane tickets for the Bahamas! I'm soooo excited:D the last success was trying on my bridesmaid dress for my cousin's wedding in may.

My plans for this week are to make some serious progress on the tower of babble project. I'm also planning to whip my crazy team in to shape since they always sit there and criticize my slides yet never seem to want to work on their own! I'm also planning to contact some PLN this week, I've decided to take more of a broad approach so my PLN isn't strictly vacation bloggers and stuff. Lastly I'm planning to finish the rest of my projects this week.

20 time has been going ok. Lately I haven't had to much time with all the other projects being due but I have been making progress lately since I haven't been as busy. I decided to search for different PLN. I been focusing a lot on Deans Blue hole on the island and I'm going to contact some world record holding freedivers who had dived there.

The verse this week is basically saying that we should trust God and not fear because he is always with us. We need to remember that he is our strength.

Week 30

So more snow? I didn't see that coming...anyway it's definitely shaping up to be one of the worst months of the year (PS I hate April). I currently having "the biggest grade of the year" project due in English on Monday which I have currently made little to no progress on. Along with that I also have a huge history paper due on Monday which I have also not started. I have two tests this week, a quiz, and a ton of busy work from all the teachers who are in Costa Rica. Practice every day after school, game Friday. I have to plan my cousins bridal shower and had to go there yesterday to get fitted right after practice, didn't get home till late. I also have another cousin whos getting married and I have to go to her bridal shower in WV soon. And on top of it all I need to get a summer job this week or I never will. The problem is I don't know when I'm gonna have the time to fill out applications since I have to devote my entire weekend to cramming those projects in. Oh and almost forgot im in charge of gala decorations which we were supposed to have figured out by today and have a website to order from which i didnt get to 😫 Rant over.
So last week was an okay week, I definitely think we should have had a 2 hour delay yesterday I mean come on, it snowed a lot. Last week my team made some progress on our story time. I'd have to say its been rough getting started but once we get everything lined up I think we'll be good to go. Sadly 20 time is the last thing on my mind right, I have a ton of other projects to do, places to be....
Challenges faced last week was the end of the quarter. I really tried to push until the end and not let my grades drop and overall I think they came out pretty well. Another challenge faced was the dress fitting yesterday. Just so happens my bridesmaid dress is too big again, I went there the first time and it was way too big so I guess their making progress.
Successes this past week were slim. Our progress on story time has been going well. My team is getting there slowly but surely. Another success is ending the quarter strong, I'm pretty proud of those grades.
My plans for the upcoming week are listed in the first paragraph. Lets hope Im still breathing by the end of this month....
20 time as I said before isn't going to we'll. Until I get all this STUFF out of the way I really don't have time for anything else.
The verse for this week really applies to my life. I literally feel like I'm being pulled in a million different directions. It's good to know God's got my back.

Week 29

So last Monday was our last snow day of this school year, I'm pretty sure that is unless it decides to dump a bunch on us today....Anyway last week went pretty well. Friday was definitely the worst day of the week since I had to take two tests and a quiz three periods in a row. The story time project is coming along well, my groups has been making progress. I would have to say were struggling with stretching our story into 12 slides since our story isn't exactly the longest or most colorful. The animations however are easy to find. I haven't had any problems finding the right animations. If you look it up they have a whole site if bible character gifts for you to use so that's definitely a relief. If anything one of the hardest parts of this project is going to be making the animated background. No one in my group seems to have a good idea about how to do that so this should be interesting. Overall last week was ok. We still had to practice every day for soccer in the gym, which is starting to get old:/ By our first game on Friday we will have only been on an actual field for practice only twice... but we're ready.
Challenges faced this week was finishing up JavaScript. It was complicated because it was similar to learning a new language and it was nothing like HTML. I got to 20% though which was an accomplishment. Also, it has been hard to find PLNs but when is it not.
As for successes, I think getting to 20%, as I mentioned earlier, was a success. Also, finding a couple more websites to use for my 20time project was a success. I hope this weeks StoryTime will make that project a success... My group has been distracted lately by all the funny things we could use for our project that we're behind at the moment.
My plans for this upcoming week are to find PLN. I'm also planning to work on reading huckleberry finn. Lastly I'm planning to get alot of work done on our Storytime project.
So far my 20 time project has been going ok. I've been searching for alot of PLN lately and I think I may have found a few good sources. I have also found a lot of good tourist attractions that are very interesting.
The verse this week is telling us to keep going no matter how hard it gets. It says that God is our strength and we should trust in him to help us keep going. If we learn to trust in God and his power we can overcome all things.

Week 28

So another snow day? Hey I'm not complaining, unlike most of you out there I actually like not going to school;) Overall last week was very rough. It was my first full week of having practice and all five days of school work with it. I cannot even begin to explain how relieved I was on Friday afternoon. Last week in computer I decided to switch from Ruby to JavaScript because Ruby was really getting on my nerves, too complicated. So far JavaScript has been working pretty well. This week in computer it looks like we're going to be working on our animation for the kid story. My group decided to do the Tower of Babel story:P this should be interesting. Pi day was definitely the best day of the week, there was soo much pie:) also were starting to talk about the junior hike, I'm definitely extremely excited except for the fact it's during finals week:P
Challenges faced last week would start with balancing practice and school again. Winter was kinda of a break for me, I'm getting back in to the system of being so sore I can barely walk up the steps. Another challenge was all the projects I had due, pi project for geometry, bible project, and the civics project. The last challenge last week was getting sleep. That snow day was amazing I actually got a good night sleep for once.
Successes last week would include completing all my projects on time. Also just surviving in general. Along with  that a successful biology test... Pretty sure I passed.
My plans for the upcoming week are to make cookies for the bake sale on Thursday, you guys should totally stop by and get some. I'm also planning to make some more progress on java script, its starting to get more difficult with the coding. Along with that my group is planning to make some progress on our story, were still trying to determine if we're gonna use the leaning tower of Pisa as our Tower of Babel. Lastly I'm planning to make some PLN progress on my 20 time project.
So far 20 time has definitely been very interesting, I found some really cool places to visit. Just so happens the deepest blue hole in the world is located there (Dean's Blue hole), I'm really looking forward to researching that more. I also found some really good scuba diving places which is starting to become my main focus:) PLN however has been difficult, since my project topic isn't a sport or actual profession I'm not really sure who I'm supposed to be contacting exactly...
The verse for this week is basically saying that we need to trust that God has everything under control. It says "if God is for us who can be against us". This means that we should put our faith and trust in God and his power to overcome evil. We shouldn't worry about the future because it is in God's hands.

Week Twenty Seven

So last week felt really short, I'm starting to get used to only 3 school days a week. Overall last week was interesting. For starters my 20 time research is getting interesting. I've beginning to realize that the Bahamas is less a remote island and more of a smaller version of New York City. I've been trying to find some local places that aren't so city influenced but the best I've gotten so far is a bread shop that caters weddings. It's not really a shop so much as it is a business. I've also been trying to find some PLN but its harder than I thought it would be. I wanted to contact some vacation bloggers that might've gone there and reviewed the place but I haven't found any. It keeps taking me to trip advisor where like 3 million people have given their own opinions ranging from "this place is the most amazing on earth" to "the Bahamas is the last place on earth you should visit, I had a horrible time". It's kinda tough trying to figure out who I should try to contact. Also last week, varsity girls soccer started. It was kinda rough since I literally hadn't run since the last cross country meet in November. But I'm looking forward to a good season, there's less girls so its definitely going to be easier to get places and stuff.

Challenges faced last week would include as I said before, my 20 time project. The project is great its just a struggle to find the local side of the Bahamas and some genuine vacation reviewers. Another challenge was soccer practice. I'm way out of shape so its tough having to get back in the flow of things. Plus the fact that two days every week I'm literally carrying a back pack, guitar, bag for practice and lunch box. Its back breaking. The last challenge faced this past week was trying to get homework done before hand. I have two big assignments due tomorrow that I originally planned to work on over the week end but that of course didnt happen:/

Successes of last week would include finding some good tourist attractions in the Bahamas (believe it or not they have more than just beautiful beaches). Another success was surviving soccer, still a lot of work to do. Along with that, last week I succeeded in getting all my assignments in on time;) The last success was progress on the gala decorations. Me and Alet are planning to go look at the location so we can get a table count and stuff to figure out how many center pieces we need so I'm hoping we can get this out of the way.

My plans for the upcoming week are to study for the biology test and trudge through the reading and questions for English. I'm also planning to work on my 20 time project this week in the area of airfare and passport stuff. I have a lot to cover in the area of transportation and legal stuff. Along with that I'm planning on four days of soccer practice, hoping for no shin splints. Lastly I'm planning on going to Savage (the place where the gala is gonna be) so I can see how many chairs are at each table and figure out the number of center pieces.

My progress on 20 time has been okay. Like I said before I'm still working out the details for PLN and local places. PLN for this project is definitely going to be more difficult than my last project. I have however been able to find a lot of interesting tourist attractions other than the beach. They have a lot of pretty waterfalls and lagoons to visit. Lastly I was able to find alot of information about the hotels and stuff. It's pretty expensive there.

The bible verse this week is basically telling us to not let our stress get us down. We need to keep walking with Jesus and trusting him to help us work through our problems. This verse is telling us to focus on the eternal glory since pain we feel at the moment will only be momentary on comparison.

Week 26

So last week was the most exhausting week of my life. I think thats the first whole week of school we've has without any delays, cancelations, parties or dress down days. Overall though it was an okay week despite being exhausting. My group presented our our website and I think it went really well. We went through every page and explained it and showed everyone our crazy commercial. I also got the chance to go to the senior concert yesterday. It was amazing! I think everyone had a really good time.... makes me wonder what us juniors are gonna do for fundraising next year....Lastly last week CS1a started using Haiku. We didnt really get a chance to use it for too long in class but I'm excited to see how it compares to moodle.
Challenges faced last week were presenting our website. I was pretty sure we had everything done in the requirements but naturally when we were ready to present my mission statement i had put on the home page was gone. I ended up telling Mr.k a rough version of what it was... No idea what happened there. Another challenge faced was the bacteria lab in bio. We tested the combination knobs on two different peoples lockers and the results were pretty nasty (seriously u guys need to clean those) which i guess was good for us since we had a lot to work with.
Successes last week were a good presentation of our KnowDip website. Im happy with how it turned out. Another success was the bio lab. Now all we have to do is a really long lab report:P Along with that ive had a lot of success in my search for PLN. I thought it was going to be hard but you have no idea how popular the Bahamas is.
My plans for the upcoming week are to keep working on my 20 time project. Im also starting soccer practice on Thursday so that should be fun. Along with that im planning to start working on the decorations for the gala. I need to get in contact with my aunt and grandmother who literally have a basement full of decorations most of which are 1920 themed.
My progress on my 20 time project has been good. In class on friday I watched some youtube videos to get a feel for the place. I also did alot of research for PLN this weekend and i think im going to have alot of success. Most of my PLN might be people promoting a vacation there so they would be more than happy to answer some questions.
I think the verse this week is basically saying that in order to follow Christ wholeheartedly we need to leave everything behind. We cant be tied to anything or anyone. Christ is our one and only God. In order to follow Christ we should be sold out to him. You cant sit on the fence with Christianity, your either all in or all out.

Week 25

So this past week was interesting, despite the fact we had a 2 hour delay monday it still felt like a pretty normal week to me. Overall last week was pretty great. My team got alot done on our website. My progress on the souvenir shop is coming along. I have tables and pictures with text on it now so yay! Also my team filmed our commercial which is pretty interesting. It doesnt look professional or anything but i think well get a few laughs. Lastly out site is almost finished were just haveing trouble getting out commercial on our site and getting the job application on there aswell.
Challenges faced last week would include figuring out how to make a table with a picture and text. It took me quite awhile to get the table to show up with the picture but i eventually figured it out. Another challenge was my english presentation. I procrastinated and waited till midnight to finish it and didnt end up getting it done till like 6:30AM. Luckily we had a 2 hour delay so i got two hours of sleep but honestly i would have to say i still dont feel like im caught up on sleep.
Succeses of last week would be an A on the english project;) also getting the table on our website, that took me awhile. Another success would be just being awesome and having a better site than 50SOC. Ya thats right we didnt make a facebook page for our INVISIBLE company #meggles&morgles
My plans for the upcoming week are to get the youtube video on our site somehow. Also i plan to make another page on our site for employment and somehow get the job application on there. Lastly im planning not to die from all this work i have to do;) ill let you know how it goes
20 time i havent really started on yet. This friday however im planning to get a jumpstart on research and stuff since i havent done any yet.
The verse for this week is basically saying that faith with out deeds is useless. Saying your a christian and actually being one are two completely different things. Our actions should reflect our faith.

Livin It Up Without Wifi

Overall this week has definitely been the most interesting. For the past 2 days me and my family have been staying at a house right next to the slopes of Wisp. We have to walk a few yards to get to the slope, but I've really enjoyed being here. The house is great its just the wifi. It just so happens this house doesn't have wifi of its own and for all you MACA highschoolers out there we know this is a severe problem. Especially when I have two days worth of work in every class:P however I have discovered that while standing in certain parts of the house I can using the neighbors free wifi that's not pass word protected. So in order to do my homework this week I've been spending 3-4 hours in the highest part of this house (the loft), standing next to the window holding up my iPad whispering 'be strong😩'. I currently only have the dot in the wifi signal but that seems to be enough! It's definitely been an interesting couple of days. But we didn't escape the snow up here in deep creek MD. My family left Wednesday evening right before the storm and now here I would say there's a good two feet on the ground. Needless to say that lead to the ski slopes being all choppy and terrible but otherwise I didn't mind it.

Challenges faced this week would be getting background pictures on the webpages. It was really frustrating at first because I couldn't figure out why the picture wasn't showing up but eventually I got it to work and now our home page has a really cool background. Another challenge faced was the valentines day flowers. Apparently we had 700 or so flowers to tie names to, sort into classes and hand out. It was rough and personally I didn't think we'd be done in time but surprisingly we finished before the end of 2nd period! Also I faced the challenge of skiing this weekend. As I said before the slopes yesterday were terrible, I ended up falling down and now my neck muscles are all tight:/ the last challenge was getting wifi. It's been rough walking around the house waiting for the right spot but I've been determined to get all this work done so we can stay an extra day.

Successes this week would include getting to Wisp before the huge snow storm hit. Also getting backgrounds on all of our site pages. Another success was beating my brother once down the slope😉 Also successfully getting my hw turned in off stolen wifi! Lastly completing my groups know dip job application.

My plans for the upcoming week are to continue using the neighbors wifi and skiing with the fam. I also plan to get the extremely difficult English project done:P I am also planning to get together with my group and film the commercial (that is if I can get ahold of them! Ahem.) lastly I'm planning to teach my little cuz how to ski.

Anyway yesterday I finished putting together my 20 time schedule. I decided to do my project on the Bahamas. Gotta luv the beach:) I feel like this could be a really good project. I mean its definitely not going to top my last one of the guitar but I think it's promising.

And there's no verse so I guess that's it:)

Week 23

Overall I think I enjoyed last week the most out of the entire school year. Having those 2 days off in the middle of the week were so helpful since I had a lab report due a test another test and a quiz all on the same day. It was awesome having two extra days to study😛
Overall last week was pretty awesome, only two days of school! Like I said in my last blog I think the week before last was our first full week of school this entire year. Anyways I learned alot last week mostly about geometry and biology which were the two tests I was studying so hard for. Other than that, between snow days there wasn't much to learn. However out team website is going well, my attempts to make a slideshow for the homepage failed. None of the people on my team are very good with HTMl including myself:/ but I think we're doing pretty well considering the circumstances.
Challenges faced over the past week would include coming back on Friday to all those test and quizzes, it was definitely a bit rough since I had two quizzes and tests. Another challenge for my group was getting phase 5 done, were still working on the details but we did it. The last challenge for the week is getting all my hw done so I can leave to go skiing Wednesday night. I swear every teacher in the school is having their hw or test or project on the Tuesday we get back😩
Successes for last week would be my team getting our phase 5 turned in. Another success is finally deciding on my 20 time project topics. It took me a while but I think the two I have are solid ideas for a good 4th quarter project.
My plans for the upcoming week are to go skiing Thursday thru Friday but with the hw I'm not sure if one of those days won't have to be committed to hw:P. I'm also planning to get together with my team an work on our commercial, I won't be back in town till Monday evening so were gonna be stretching it to the limit:/
So far on my 20 time all I have is the topic but I'm really excited to start working on the PLN and the presentation.
The verse this week is basically saying we shouldn't just be reading the bible, we should be actively doing what it says. Stationary Christians never to anything amazing for God. We need to stand up and witness to everyone around us instead of fading into the background.

Week 22

So last week definitely felt longer than it actually was. I think that's the first full week of school we've had since last year? Anyway overall last week was pretty okay despite the fact that I loathed class everyday. The week seemed to never end. Overall though I really like how they did our chapel last week. Having a small group discussion within our home rooms was really interesting. I liked discussing it all as a class much better than in really small groups.

Challenges faced last week would include surviving a whole 5 days of school. It felt like it dragged on forever. Another challenge faced was giving the rest of my 20 time presentation. The last challenge would be the horse show this past weekend. MACAs first equestrian team ever headed off to their first competition this weekend. I was really nervous until it was all over mainly due to the fact that you never know what kind to horse your going to get. I ended up getting a really lazy horse that wouldn't canter the first time I asked but we didn't do too bad, Ill take 6th place😛 overall our team did really well for being the first ones, I think we're shaping up to win some big stuff.

Successes would be my team doing really well at the competition last weekend, so proud of you all:). Another success would be the snow day today. Not saying that I made it happen but I feel somewhat responsible. The last success would be getting my passport this weekend with my family. Yup were headed to the Bahamas in August soo excited!!

My plans for the upcoming week are to get a head start on everything. I seriously can't afford to get crammed with work this week. I'm going to have to work ahead on everything since I'm missing two days of school next week. I'm also planning to help my team on our website. We're kinda behind on stuff since all the coding is really confusing. I'm currently trying to figure out how to put a slideshow on our home page. Three attempts and no success:P

As for 20 time I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I want to do for fourth quarter. I have a few ideas but I'm still trying to put together how they would look in a presentation.

This weeks verse is basically saying that since we know we have been made new through the crucifixion of Christ we should no longer act like we are slaves to sin. We are made new in Christ and we should be joyful and spreading the word to all unbelievers we meet.

Week 21

So the greatest thing just happened. I typed out this entire blog and then accidentally hit the undo button ON THE KEYBOARD. I didn't know there was an undo button on the keyboard? So forgive me if this blog is a bit short, I literally had two huge paragraphs and they disappeared and I've got other work to do so this is gonna be brisk sort of.
Overall I learned alot this week from the chapels. I really like the theme of getting out of your box. I think it explains what MACAs main problem is. We need to learn to get out of our Christian circles and be open to spreading the gospel of Christ to unbelievers. I also learned this week to get out of my box. I ended up being part of the LAST pair to go to the ball pit. Originally I really resented the idea but after actually doing it my opinion changed. I was teamed up with Tori Bradley and actually I really enjoyed talking to her(: Overall I think the ball pit was a good idea. A stepping stone to getting us to be friends with people who aren't our best friends.

Challenges faced this week would be giving my 20 time presentation. At first I thought it would be bland and boring but after giving it, it ended up not being that bad. The other challenge was the ball pit. I was kinda nervous at first, I don't like the element of surprise if you know what I mean. But as I mentioned earlier I ended up really enjoying it:) Another challenge was starting a new elective. I decided to do worship team this year instead of lit class and I'm really happy with my decision. I really enjoyed my first day with the worship team today;)

Successes for this week would be giving a good 20 time presentation. I'm really happy with how my project turned out and really hoping it will make up for my rough midterm grade. The other success would be keeping strait As for one whole week :D! Yup that won't last long but I figure enjoy it as long as you can.

My plans for the upcoming week are to work on some guitar chords for worship team that I don't have down to well just yet. I'm also planning to turn in some projects early for extra credit and try to keep the straight As for possible 2 more week but who know maybe not.

Overall I'm really happy with how my 20 time project for quarter 2 turned out. I feel like it was much better than my 20 time project from first quarter. Overall I haven't quite decided what I want my topic to be for quarter 4 but I have a few ideas.

This verse is basically saying that God wants us to trust him. He wants us to remember that everything is under his control and that we need to have faith in what he allows to happen. I think it is important however not to take this verse out of context. God isn't specifically saying this verse to us, he saying it in a story in the bible. You should read the story and then apply the verse.

20timeFinalReflection

Overall I would have to say that my 20 time project this quarter was very smooth. I didn't feel like it was hard to make the presentation and my project was very solid:) It was a bit frustrating at first because I couldn't get any PLN but in the end I did get one person to respond. In all I like to this project better than my last one and I definitely had a lot of fun learning to play guitar.
What could I have done better? Hmmm honestly I can't think of much but I guess I probably could have tweeted 40 people instead of only 20 and maybe gotten a second response. I also could have included more of the history behind the guitar. I didn't include much of it but trust me the guitar has a long history.
What could I have done better to help you? I would say maybe recommending other ways to get PLN or looking over our approaches and giving advice to what we could have done better. Otherwise I think we all did fine.
Looking back I feel like I could have done a lot more PLN in December. I kinda did like nothing in December because of Christmas and everything but really I think I would have gotten more responses for PLN if I had continued to contact people not only through November but through December as well.
As for potential topics for quarter 4 I would have to say maybe long boarding, the Bahamas (since I'm going there this summer) or something on 1920's gala decorations since I'm in charge of that this year.
Having been through 20 time projects twice I intend to change my approach by actually keeping up and working on the project throughout the quarter. I also intend to get more PLN and maybe include more videos in my next presentation to make it more interesting.
I used the guidelines on iste.nets by being creative with my projects and communicating with PLN through email and twitter. Also I used the Internet to research my topic and used critical thinking and decision making to craft my project into perfection. I also used digital citizenship when talking to PLN and lastly I have come to understand technology operations and concepts.
Overall I feel like I greatly improved my 20 Time project in comparison to the one in did in Q1. I plan to improve the next one as well.

Week 19

So, midterms are coming up, this should be an interesting week... It's definitely going to be a hard one. Overall I'd have to say homecoming last week was amazing! It was kinda weird that we only had three spirit days instead of 5 but it was still a good week. Overall last week I learned how to finish projectS, it's was definitely a rough week since I had a book presentation on Monday and a paper due the next Monday. I also learned a lot about pedigrees and dominant/recessive traits in bio. And we have to do a project on eugenics for our midterm.
Challenges faced would be putting our site together in computer. Me and my group are pretty much lost all the time, and our site looks pretty bad. Hopefully we can figure this out soon cause were still, well, lost. Another challenge I am going to face is all the midterms this week. Yay that's great, half days all around, but honestly I'd rather have a full day and skip the midterms all together. The last challenge I faced would have been all the projects I've had to turn in since last week and all the test/quizzes/and hw. I'm still forgetting to turn stuff in. I'm not used to teachers have stuff due literally on your weekend like sundAy night instead of Monday 8:15.
Successes of this past week would be the small amount of progress my group has made on the site. It's still looks terrible but at least we've got something. Another success would be passing all the tests and quizzes I took last week! It's pretty rare that I didn't fail ANY of them. The last success would be my babysitting job this weekend, I earned alot of money that I needed😜
My plans for the upcoming week are: studying, studying, and more studyinig! Were in for a thriller of a week! Other plans include going to a wedding this weekend for some random family member I've never met. Should be fun.
My 20 time project is coming along pretty well. I still have a lot of work to do on it but I've got the general plan down for what I want to do. I'm definitely doing it in explain everything so I can include music clips but I'm not sure how I'm going to fit them into everything else.
The verse this week is basically saying that if God is for us who can be against us? I think it's definitely important for people to remember that God is never against us, he just wants the best for us.

Week 18

Wow it's hard to believe we're already on week 18?! I feel like I'm writing a journal or something...anyway last week was definitely my favorite week. Only one day of school! The weekend was a bit rough since I had a project and a test to study for but I survived. As for what I learned I don't remember much from that one day last week but this Monday I learned quite a bit. I learned that have an english paper due Friday morning that I haven't started. I learned about what Abe Lincoln did the few hours before he was killed. And I learned about pedigrees in bio. My team computers is working hard. We've picked out t shirts for our shop and started designing what we want the site to look like.
Challenges face would be keeping up with all the hw. I keep forgetting stuff and then getting a renweb 'oh look another thing I forgot!'. It's frustrating. Another challenge is my PLN so far I only have one who answered me back out of the twenty people I tweeted so I'm kinda frustrated.
Successes would be my team getting progress on our site. We have alot of cool ideas so I'm excited to see what the final thing is gonna look like. Another success is my English project, I got the timing spot on! Which is pretty rare for me
My plans for the upcoming week are to get more PLN and continue to work with my team to make our website more amazing than 50 SOC😜
The bible verse this week basically says that we need to follow Gods example..we need to live in truth, not be greedy or selfish and learn to love others as our self. I definitely need to work on living out this verse.
